About Me
Hello, I’m Kristen.
I believe that every person has a story, and that understanding where we have come from can help us make sense of who we are today.
My journey into counselling began with a genuine curiosity about people — why we behave the way we do, how our relationships shape us, and how our experiences throughout life can influence the way we see ourselves, connect with others and navigate the world.
I am a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), with multiple years of experience working as a child, adolescent and family counsellor. Through this work, I have supported people navigating a wide range of emotional, relational and life challenges, and developed a particular passion for helping people feel understood, empowered and connected.
Our Approach
My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and strengths-based. I offer a warm and supportive space where you can be heard without judgement, while also gently challenging patterns, beliefs or behaviours that may no longer be serving you.
I believe counselling should be both compassionate and empowering. Sometimes we need a safe place to slow down and be heard. Sometimes we need to better understand what is happening beneath the surface. And sometimes we need support to make meaningful changes and take a different step forward.
My areas of interest include attachment and relationships, healthy communication, emotional regulation and co-regulation, parenting, trauma recovery, domestic and family violence, grief and loss, anxiety, childhood abuse and neglect, mental health challenges, identity, self-worth and empowerment, as well as understanding and responding to children’s behaviours.
While much of my professional experience has been working with women, children, adolescents and families, I welcome clients of all genders. You don’t need to fit into a particular category or have everything figured out before reaching out. Counselling can be a space to simply begin exploring what is happening for you and what you would like to be different. I believe seeking support is an act of self-understanding, growth and courage.
My hope is that through our work together, you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your relationships, navigate challenges with greater confidence, and feel empowered.
Take your next step.
You don’t need to wait until things feel overwhelming before reaching out. If you’re ready to begin exploring what is happening for you, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey
